Another magic piece by a Gulf Harbour author - enjoy, dear readers!
A Cold Windy Morning
It was a cold windy morning
I was walking through the forest.
A blinding light shone through the dancing trees
I walked cautiously toward it
I got to the light
Standing there before me was a gigantic tree curving over me
I stared at it as if I was frozen
I slowly moved toward the tree and carefully put my hand on it
The tree started to glow like the sun
There was a flash and I ended up back in my bedroom
My head was spinning and I felt really faint
I was so disappointed that I could not see what other wonders lay in the magical tree

The Thunderstorm - Year 2 ESOL group
I typed up the texts by these incredibly talented year 2 English language learners and fixed a few little spelling mistakes. All the wonderful words and sentences were created independently though.
The thunder clouds covered the sky. I thought it was midnight. My mum was waking up because of the thunder. When my mum woke, she thought it was midnight too. Then she looked at her phone. It was actually seven o'clock. The thunder sounded like an explosion. I like the thunder. But everybody else is scared of the thunder. When my friend is sharing her news when she said about the thunder, the thunder suddemly boomed loudly. My sister was not scared too.

I hear the thunder. Lightning is like a flash. The sky is dark. The thunder is rumbling.
By Ricky, room 10
The pond was filling up this morning because of the rain. The rain was heavy. It was hitting my roof. I didn't really like this morning. The thunder sounded like a dragon breathing fire. The sky was black. The clouds were shutting out the light.
