My head was screaming, my tummy was gurgling. It felt like I was in hell. The sound of loud snoring rang in my poor ears. The smell of revolting food filled my nose, making me turn as green as broccoli. My heart thumped, but I had promised my family that I would go to Korea with them to visit our relatives there. This was the time: The July holidays were here and we were on our way.
“What if the plane crashed?” Every second I felt more sick. Sicker and sicker and sicker ….
“The plane will land in five minutes.” the pilot announced. After what seemed like five hours the plane landed in Australia. BOOM. Screeeech!!!! We had reached our first stop on our long journey to Korea.
The pilot welcomed us to Australia and said, “Thank you for waiting patiently! Good bye!”
Following my dad I practically waddled into the transit area, while my mum and my sister, Mari, were trailing behind us. Brisbane. Wow, I was breathless. The city shone like a million diamonds. My headache and my tummy ache flew away. Gurgle. Wait, what was that?
“Mum, I’m hungry!” I moaned. Out of the corner of my eye I saw something I understood in a foreign country: “Subway!” I screamed a little too loud.
“Mum, mum, mum, can we get Subway, PLEASE!” I begged.
“We don’t have Australian money!” mum answered.
“Dad, dad, dad, can we get Subway?” I pleaded.
“Sure! Wait, sorry, we don’t have Australian money.” my dad teased.
For the rest of the journey to Korea, I kept quiet. When the plane landed in Thailand, I was relieved, because it was probably the shortest flight on our way to Korea. THAILAND! The airport was huge and there were crowds of people and the shopping was crazy, but not as crazy as the malls in Korea. It was INSANE! Anyway after shopping we went on the next plane. Korea was waiting.
Crash. “Oh, my god, oh my god, oh my god!” We finally arrived in South Korea, Busan. We all dashed like light to get our bags. I could see our relatives waving and jumping like mad people. We gave hugs and kisses. My grandpa, grandad, grandma, nanny, aunty, uncle, my little cousin were talking and talking, asking us questions. We got into our uncle’s car and we drove to a restaurant.
