Room 20 writers are rocking recounts!

Michaela Westcott, Year 4, Room 20

In the holidays I went to my nanna’s house and me and Caitlin heard a bang on the window. I felt really scared.

We went outside to see and I felt worried.

It turned out it was a bird, but not just any bird …. It was a baby white eye. It had nice, green , silky feathers and a white ring around its eyes.

It was lying on its face. I was really sad.

Caitlin was really lucky because she got to hold it. I felt really happy because it was all better.

Jessica Williams, Year 3, Room 20

The Bird

One time I came back from Poppy’s house. I went into my bedroom and I saw feathers and I was shocked.

Then I saw something come out from under the bed and my cat was there with a bird! It was so cute. It was green and fluffy. It was so, so … big!!!

Next I put it into a box. “Oh, don’t forget to poke holes into it.” I thought.

But suddenly my cat found it and bit it. I was so sad. I burst into tears. But the next morning it was gone and I was surprised.
